Vancouver

A BIG and Beautiful city!

We had an early start to roaming around this amazing city. It is much larger than we expected, but they have an awesome bus and transit system and very helpful locals to help navigate the automated ticket booths. We went to the Visitors Information (VI). In all of our travels the VI is usually one of our first stops and are always amazed at the warm, welcoming and informative people that seem to work in that environment. This was no exception. She, as well as a fellow traveler, suggested that we take a ferry across the harbour and then a bus to Granville Island. An amazing market and restaurants – we wish we had gone there hungry. Beautiful art exhibits and a very eclectic artist and busker area. They were just getting started when we were heading back. Once on the ferry, Hugo tells me he was pickpocketed. 😳 In truth, the cash probably fell out of his pocket. Luckily, his cash allowance is small. Lol

My fitbit notes 8.75 miles today. We are back in our Mountain View room. Picture below.

I told the front desk that whoever (who or whom?) listed this as a Mountain View room must have a very good sense of humor. The concierge just brought us up ear plugs to block out the street noise (kept me up last night😖) and we are ready to call it a day. Tomorrow we plan on starting the day with a visit to Capilano Suspension Bridge. 460 ft long and 230 ft above the river. Life is good!

Travel Day

It is 3:20 am Atlanta time and our long travel day has finally come to and end with us having a bottle of wine and chips for dinner in the hotel room. Aside from the cab taking us to the wrong hotel (I admit….. mostly my fault…. but who knew there was more than one Pinnacle Hotel in Vancouver!) and already accruing over $50 in roaming fees 😳 so that I could figure out where we were suppose to be, the day was pretty uneventful. Lesson learned.

Customs into Canada was a breeze, pretty much automated. Looking forward to exploring tomorrow.

Preparation

I have googled and read so much on taking an Alaskan Cruise and RVing in Alaska that I almost feel like an expert before we have even begun on this adventure!

Now comes the time of what to pack for this adventure during this time of the year. Looks like I need to be prepared for hot weather, warm weather, cool weather, cold weather as well as rain forest weather!😳
